.::THE FILM::.

"Crank Yankers" is a show that you find offensive, funny or both. I'm in the middle, though I'd add uncomfortness to my feelings on the series. I personally had only seen a handful of skits over the years so this was a fresh start for me.

Comedy Central has already released seasons 1 and 2 on DVD and now for those who missed out or don't want to spend $50+ for those, you can pick up the best cranks, 58 in all.

This collection ranges from the beloved Special Ed to Hadassah to Professor Fermstein (guest vocal from Jeff Goldblum). As a slef described comic book geek, one of my favorite skits, and this is the most tame, called "Batman's Nemesis Calls 411-Information" as a puppet calls to find the number and address for Bruce Wayne and Batman. Kind of dumb to some people, but I found it pretty funny...

For fans of raunchy material, you can't go wrong watching "Computer Tech Support - Lisa Needs Help" as puppet Lisa, um, well, is fond of the tech geek's nerdy voice. Other stand outs include "Special Ed Tells a Knock-Knock Joke", "Professor Fermstein Calls Co-Ed" and really any of the others involving Special Ed.

This "Best of" collection is filled with three hours worth of skits that will make you laugh, cry and scream... all at the same time. Now, if I did have one complaint it would be the failure to include Dr. Drew and Adam giving Loveline a hip-hop flavor.

.::SPECIAL FEATURES::.

Nope, no features here. You can, however, watch by sketch or by peformer.

.::AUDIO & VIDEO::.

The show is presented in the standard full screen and everything looks very good. The images are so clear you can see each hair on the puppets. Simply amazing.

The audio is available in simple Dolby Stereo. What more do you really need?

.::OVERALL::.

"The Best of the Crank Yankers" is the perfect and inexpensive DVD for anyone who doesn't already own the DVD sets currently out. There are more than 50 calls that range from dumb to crude to plain old raunchy.
