.::THE FILM::.

Iíve been listening to a radio show in Atlanta for about four or five years now, and a few weeks ago they had a comedian by the name of Bert Kreischer on the air. He did part of his routine on the air, and then proceeded to play a game that involved shooting a bb gun at someone if he got the question wrong. Kreischer ended up getting shot twice, and it was one of the funniest segments ever. So, when I heard that he had a DVD coming out, aptly named Comfortably Dumb, I was excited. Let me tell you, itís one of the best comedy DVDís Iíve ever watched.

Kreischer starts the night off by talking about himself, even though itís not that obvious until he gets through with the joke about being overweight and having a goatee. It starts off the night phenomenally, since in the first thirty seconds you know what heís going to talk about.

From jokes that deal with his wife and child, to hilarious segments of the discussion about how Dora from the television show ďDora The ExplorerĒ is a racist cartoon. It is jaw-dropping funny, and had me cracking up for about ten minutes. I had to pause the DVD from laughing that much. Iíve seen the show before, and never realized it until Kreischer pointed out the similarities between the show and real life.

Thereís also another hilarious bit that involves Kreischer in a ďtrueĒ story about being trapped in an elevator with an annoying child. Now, weíve all been there, and the kid from the story is troublesome to say the least. He talks about how he got revenge on the child, and ends the story with another hilarious one-liner that shocked me to say the least, but in a great way.

He also discusses drugs and another great story about celebrity Jay Mohr (ďGary UnmarriedĒ), and how he wishes the story involved Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock. So Kreischer talks about the night when they saw a midget sprinting at them, all the while they are high as can be. He then talks about how midgets run in a truly hilarious scene as usual, and Mohr says ďDonít you think midgets should run on all fours?Ē Thatís just one of the jokes in this scene, as the clincher happens right at the end from a joke that Mohr says.

Finishing out the night, Kreischer comes back out for an encore with one final skit involving some members of the audience. Itís pretty entertaining, and finishes off the night properly.

Overall, this is a great comedy DVD that deserves to be watched. I honestly think that Kreischer is one of the funniest comedians ever, and hopefully he makes a stop where I live and plays a show so I can see him in person. Iím comfortably dumb, and so should you after watching this.

Bert Kreischer is a Terrible... (9 minutes): The comedian goes through various things that he is terrible at, and tells a few jokes about them. This is a hilarious special feature, with the only downside that itís short. I definitely recommend this as a watch after youíre done with his act.

Alright, so thereís literally only one person on stage the entire film, so Iím judging the video based on that (obviously). There are a few times where grain is present (the beginning mainly), and a few scenes did appear a bit darker than others and there was a bit of noise present. However, aside from that, this is a fantastic video job. Kreischer looks how he should, as his flesh tones and colors in the background as well as him are how they should be.

The Dolby Digital 5.1 track accompanying this comedy act does a great job at surround usage for the duration of the show. I never had issues with dialogue (hearing it or otherwise) or any problems with the crowd being too loud or too soft after the jokes were told. The dialogue is crisp and clear, as it should be, as though thereís only one person talking the entire time. Once again, this is a great track.

Even if youíve never seen him before, I implore you to purchase this DVD. Itís cheap and can be watched over and over again and itís still as funny as the first time. Kreischer is an amazing comedian and I hope that he releases more of these DVDís in the future. The audio and video are great as well, and even though thereís only one special feature, itís still as hilarious as the main comedy act. This is one DVD to be comfortably smart about purchasing.
