I don't watch the Bravo channel too often. It's just not one of my favorite cable channels. It's not something I consciously avoid (like Fox news or something), but it's no Comedy Central or even CNN. But, I am a fan of Dave Chappelle.

James Lipton's show on Bravo, Inside the Actor's Studio decided to profile Dave Chappelle for one of their episodes and I have the DVD version of it(also released on the same day was one that featured Robert Redford, Barbara Streisand, Paul Newman, and Clint Eastwood. But Chappelle gets his own. If you've seen the show, you know the format but for those who haven't basically it runs like the following:

- Lipton makes with dry but witty jokes.
- Lipton asks the guests what their favorite curse words are and about their parents.
- General interviewing
- Questions from the numerous film students in the audience.
- Clips of the actor/singer/writer/director/comedian's work.

It's all pretty standard. I was entertained quite a bit but a show like this, to me, well, your level of enjoyment will depend squarely on how much you like that episode's guest. I'm a fan of Dave Chappelle so I was entertained. Simple as that.

The only extra on this DVD is a series of segments from the interview not seen during the feature piece. They're all good but one has to wonder why they were cut. There was nothing particularly risqué or off topic about these deleted segments. A real head-scratcher. It almost feels like there were deleted JUST so there can be deleted scenes on the DVD.

Standard audio (English Surround) and video (full screen) on the disc, satisfactory enough to watch and TV. No need for surround sound here, folks.

Bravo puts together a decent disc. Inside the Actor's Studio has been a staple of their network for years and this episode proves why. It's not amazing but if you're a fan of Chappelle, it's worth at least a rental.
