Step up to the bar at Paddy’s Pub and brace yourself for a shot of outrageous fun! Paddy’s may be the worse bar in Philadelphia, but the gang there sure knows how to party. Whether it’s Dee and Charlie’s flirtation with cannibalism, Frank’s glory-hole fixation, or Mac’s raucous reenactment of Dennis’ over-the-top sexual memoirs, nothing is sacred for these dysfunctional misfits as they hilariously destroy all possible boundaries of good taste. Or so the back of the DVD claims...

“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” is easily one of the funniest shows ever put on television. I heard once called, “Seinfeld on crack.” That is a pretty accurate description all things considered. It’s a cliché to call a show “laugh out loud funny” but I can’t imagine watching this series any other way. This is their fourth season and they have still maintained a sense of freshness. Although there is certain things can count on, the show still manages to take unexpected twists and turns that have you in shock or laughing your ass off. Either way it’s a great time.

I’m an avid fan of the series and this is probably my favorite season yet. My favorite episodes would be: Mac and Dennis: Manhunters, The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis, Who Pooped the Bed, Mac’s Banging the Waitress, and the much talked about musical season finale The Nightman Cometh.

Blooper Reel – For a show that is already laced with comic genius, watching the cast struggle to keep a straight face is hilarious and endearing. Although the footage that they show is great, I was hoping that it would be a little more show.

Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life – This is a kickback to an episode of the same title. This time is goes a little deeper into Dennis’ personal and odd exploits as a self-proclaimed sex god. The stories are odd, but not nearly as funny as they could’ve been.

The Nightman Cometh: Live Performance – This is the best thing on the whole set. The finale episode was turned into a live stage show. This special feature shows an entire live performance including before, during, and after the show along with a behind the scenes backstage pass. You actually feel like you’re there. Not to mention, you get a sense of how truly talented this group of people really are.

All told about 1 hour of special features.

This DVD box set is presented in full frame 1.33:1 aspect ratio. Since televisions have become widescreen, make sure you adjust your screen accordingly. Picture is up to par as to what you would see during the normal broadcast.

Available in English Dolby Digital surround sound 5.1 track. Most of the show is focused on the front speakers while the rears are rarely used. This is a first for the show which has always had DVD releases in 2.0 only.

This is one of the best and most original shows out there. If you aren’t watching this show, what on Earth are you waiting for? You won’t be disappointed!
