.::THE FILM::.

I only had to live with a male roommate once - and that only lasted a few months. During that time we had an ongoing bet of how long we could go without washing the dishes. Well, after 3 weeks I eventually caved and did them. Lucky for me, this show was not on the air in America at the time as I would hate to be forced to do some stupid "humiliation" event that Spenny often has to.

“Kenny vs. Spenny” is the story of two guys who rent a house (or is it a flat in Canada?) together. Each episode deals with Kenny and Spenny agreeing on some sort of competition and making rules for it. After the competition is set, both Kenny and Spenny get some time to prepare for the event which often times includes Kenny finding some way to cheat. Both get their own filming crew and often set out alone to do whatever the competition may deal with. Some may be as simple as "First Guy to get a Boner" or "First Guy to get a Stain", but some are a bit more involved like "Who can Handle the most Torture".

As an example one episode deals with "Who can commit the most Crime" which has Kenny and Spenny both trying to do anything illegal as a little ticker on the bottom of the screen keeps track of it. One of the rules is "Do not get caught" and, well, one of them gets caught so the other is instantly crowned the winner. At the end of each competition the winner gets to pick out something humiliating that the loser has to do. In one episode the loser has to lick the door handle to a porn shop.

Kenny is the asshole of the two who will do anything to win - including cheating or getting Spenny to quit. Spenny is the one who tries to be the honest guy but too often Kenny gets the best of him and he is forced to do something incredibly stupid at the end of the show (also known as "Humiliation").

While some may find the show to be a bit on the disturbing side, I often find myself watching it laughing my ass off. Kenny really is a genius and manages to trick Spenny in such elaborate ways I wonder why Spenny still agrees to do the show. “Kenny vs. Spenny” Volume One comprises of all 10 episodes from the 1st season on Comedy Central.

Commentary Tracks - As odd as this sounds, we get two commentary tracks (First Guy to Stop Singing and Viral Videos) for this release. While both gives some behind the scenes details, its mostly just foul language and rambling on Kenny's part.

Kenny Answers Fan Mail (~2 Minutes) - Kenny’s answers two questions (via webcam) from people who have watched the show.

Kenny and Spenny: Men on the Street (~3 Minutes) - A brief background on both guys as they walk through Chinatown. Yes, they really are friends in real life.

Confessions of a Porn Addict Trailer (~3 Minutes) - A pretty funny clip of Spenny pretending to be a porn addict.

Bonus Episode: Who Can Pick the Biggest Booger (~2 Minutes) - A quick competition they did on the streets. Can you guess who won?

Deleted Scenes (~13 Minutes) - A collection of 14 different deleted scenes from random episode. Some good stuff!

This disc also includes Outtakes (~7 Minutes), Hotz TV Trailer (~1 Minute), Kenny Music Videos (~7 Minutes), Uncensored trailer (~1 Minutes) and some Viral Videos (~8 Minutes).

“Kenny vs. Spenny” is presented in 4:3 (Full frame) spread across 2 DVDs. Quality is better than what was originally aired on Comedy Central and that's all that matters. Yeah, that means Kenny's boner look better on DVD then what was originally aired.

Paramount has included a standard English Dolby Digital 2.0 track with this release. I'm content with this as I'd rather not hear Kenny puking or farting in 5.1.

“Kenny Vs. Spenny” is an incredibly funny show and I hope Comedy Central eventually brings some of their older seasons to their network some day. While I loved Comedy Central’s Season 1 (which is actually Season 4 in Canada) I managed to watch all of their previous episodes and found them to be much, much funnier.
